The double door hurricane solution combines our Speed-Guardian™ 5000 with a tandem solid hurricane rated shutter door which meets the Class 5 hurricane rating.

Because adhering to hurricane rating specifications for new construction and renovation projects can be challenging, we offer three mounting configurations for the tandem hurricane shutter solution: exterior mount, under the doorway lintel, or above the doorway lintel. Note that when mounting the tandem hurricane shutter under the doorway header, 10 to 12 inches of headroom is sacrificed. Depending on the height of the traffic moving through the opening, additional height may need to be added to the door opening.

Light Curtain Protects and Minimizes Downtime

The standard light curtain is integral with the guide tracks making it less susceptible to damage and eliminates the need for additional protection devices such as a reversing edge and photocell. This system enhances protection of personnel and vehicles, drastically reducing the likelihood of damage, saving on maintenance costs when used in conjunction with motion or presence detectors.

Double-Pane Vision Slats Have Standard Duratec® Glazing

Whether your door has clear or tinted vision slats, Duratec® glazing is standard and guarantees maximum scratch resistance despite heavy use in rough industrial environments. The special surface coating protects the pane from scratches and damage caused by cleaning.

Our vision slats are double-pane, which provides greater thermal performance as compared to competitive brands with single-pane slats.

Vision Slats

Our vision slats are available in clear or tinted. The tinted slats are a perfect choice where filtered light is required within the interior side, but privacy from the outside to inside view is desired.  Tinted slats filter incoming light creating a more comfortable workplace for employees working near doors that receive a lot of direct sunlight throughout the day.

Speed-Guardian™ C U 42 with Tandem Shutter Highly Insulated & Aesthetically Pleasing

Our Speed-Guardian™ C U 42 with a choice number of vision slats, may also be combined with the tandum shutter for a hurricane-rated solution. The galvanized, double-skinned 1-5/8″ thick (42 mm) x 10″ high (254 mm) sections are insulated with our proprietary Hörmann polyurethane blend to offer an especially high level of thermal insulation and strength. The doors are supplied as standard in RAL 9006. The exterior is characterized by the fine Micrograin lines, on the interior the sections are Stucco-textured.

Updated slat connectors make it possible to replace individual slats without the need to disassemble the entire panel. This added efficiency greatly reduces the amount of downtime for repairs.

The variable frequency drive (VFD) guarantees nearly wear-free, quiet door travel, and takes stress off the entire door system.  The smooth starting and braking action considerably extends the service life of the door.
